Maurizio Sarri Insists Cesc Fabregas Needs To Leave Chelsea

Maurizio Sarri insists if Cesc Fabregas is to play regularly he needs to look out for a new club.

The midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to Monaco and seems to be very close in making a move to the French club. Should the move go ahead, the Spanish international will be reunited with former Arsenal forward Thiery Henry who currently is at the helm of the club.

Fabregas has had very little game time since the arrival of Sarri and has completed just one single match in the Premier League this season. The 31 year’s current contract is due to expire at the end of the season and he has already fallen in the pecking order as the Blues roped in Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic to solve their midfield issue.

Sarri said, “I can say only my opinion. I don’t know the decision of the club. In my opinion, he needs to go.

“You know very well in this club there is a rule – the renewal of players over 30 is usually for one year. He has an offer for two years. I don’t want a very important player as Cesc not happy.”

“I don’t want to speak about players of other teams.

“If Cesc will go, of course we need a replacement. Now with the midfielders we are in trouble.”
