Chelsea star wanted by Real Madrid

It is very unlikely that the Blues will let the player leave

Marcos Alonso joined Chelsea from Florentina for a reported fee of £24 million in 2016 and since then has been a revelation for the club. He has contributed 13 goals and 7 assists in 76 appearances, which is a very impressive record for a left-back.

The Spain International is an integral part of the Blues and has been labelled as one of the best full-backs in the Premier League. He has tasted success with the club, winning a Premier League title and FA Cup.

The 27 year old featured regularly for the Premier League giants last season, scoring 7 goals and assisting 2 in 33 league appearances. No doubt he was one of the stand out players in an underachieving campaign.

He forced his way into the Spain squad for the first time last season but didn’t get a spot in the team in this year’s World Cup.

Real Madrid are interested in bringing back Marcos Alonso before the transfer deadline reports The Guardian.

The Spaniard joined the Blancos’ academy system as a promising youngster. He made just one senior appearance for the Spanish side before seeking regular game time elsewhere, with productive spells enjoyed at Bolton and Fiorentina.

The La Liga giants have completed 3 signings this summer but are still keen to bolster the side. Their loss to Atletico Madrid last night in the European Super Cup has provoked them into a move for the defender, as they consider him the one to improve their defense.

They have already signed Thibaut Courtois from the London outfit last week and has been linked with a move for their star player Eden Hazard throughout the summer.

But it is very unlikely that Chelsea will let a key player leave after losing Courtois to them and with the Premier League Window shut down they don’t have an option to find a replacement for him.

And Alonso also looks set to have secure first team football under Maurizio Sarri after starting against Huddersfield and impressing during the match.
