Chelsea ace wanted by La Liga giants

The Spanish side are hoping to lure him with guarantee of Champions League football

Michy Batshuayi joined Chelsea for a reported fee of €40 million, signing a 5 year contract in 2016 and was the first signing of Antonio Conte. Despite boasting a decent strike rate of 19 goals in 53 appearances, he found regular starts hard to come by in England.

The Belgium International was behind Diego Costa in the pecking order during his debut season. Despite coming as a substitute most of the time, the striker often showed glimpses of his potential talent.

Alvaro Morata was signed by the Blues last summer to replace the Spanish striker, who returned to his former club Atletico Madrid. His bright start in the Premier League kept the Belgian out from the starting line up again.

With Antonio Conte reluctant to put his faith in the striker, and with Olivier Giroud snapped up from Arsenal, he was allowed to join Borussia Dortmund on loan for the rest of the season in January transfer window.

The 24 year old made an instant impact for the German Club, scoring 7 goals in 10 appearances. But he injured his ankle in the 2-0 Bundesliga loss to Schalke on April 15 and missed the remainder of 2017-18 campaign.

He returned to full fitness ahead of the World Cup and was a part of the Belgium World Cup Squad. His nation finished third in the tournament after they defeated England in the third place play off.

Though Conte has been sacked and former Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri has been appointed as new manager. But the club have been on the lookout for a new centre forward all summer, with Gonzalo Higuain and Robert Lewandowski topping their wish list.

Michy Batshuayi is wanted in Spain by Valencia according to The Sun.

The La Liga outfit hope the lure of Champions League football will be enough to bring the Belgian striker to the Mestalla.
