Roman Abramovich is in Italy to tie up double deals

Both the players have been linked with a move to the Blues

Chelsea are expected to overhaul their side this summer after an underwhelming Premier League and Champions League campaign last season. They finished 5th in the league and will miss the Champions League in the upcoming season.

The Blues have appointed Maurizio Sarri as their new manager last week after sacking Antonio Conte and also completed the signing of midfielder Jorginho from Napoli, the club’s first summer signing.

They have been behind in the transfer window in comparison to other Premiere League clubs but with the arrival of the Italian midfielder it is believed that it will finally kickstart their transfer plans.

The Premier League giants have been heavily linked with a move for Juventus duo, Gonzalo Higuain and Daniele Rugani in the past month.

The 23 year old made his debut for the Turin side in 2015 and has impressed with the limited game-time he got. He has been trying to nail down a spot in the first team but has seen his playing time increase over the past year, making 26 appearances in all competitions.

Sarri has worked with the defender previously, when he was the manager of Empoli and the centre-back was on the loan from the Turin Side. He even tried to sign him for the Partenopei but the Serie A champions blocked the transfer.

The player is expected to have a very bright future and is regarded as one of the most promising centre-backs of his generation.

The Argentina International joined the Serie A giants from Napoli for a fee of €90 million paid in two installments in 2016 and has been a regular for the club.

The Striker won two consecutive Serie A titles and also reached the Champions League final in the 2016/2017 campaign but suffered a defeat by his former club Real Madrid.

The 30 year old was a crucial player for the Italian side last season, scoring 23 goals and assisting 7 in 50 appearances and helped his team to win their 7th consecutive Serie A title.

According to journalist Alfredo Pedulla, to the microphones of SportItalia as quoted by Calciomercato, Roman Abramovich is in Italy, Milan specifically, as he meets Juventus to try and finalise the deal to bring Rugani and Higuain to Stamford Bridge.

He first wants to complete the transfer of the defender then he will try to accelerate arrangements to bring Argentine forward to London also as he is looking to offload Alvaro Morata first.
