£40m Chelsea Outcast Wanted By Former Ligue 1 Club

According to the latest reports, AS Monaco are interested in taking back Tiemoue Bakayoko from Chelsea.

It has been a different ordeal for Frank Lampard in trying to get rid of the Frenchman. Bakayoko is clearly not a good fit in the current Stamford Bridge setup and Chelsea are actively trying to get him off their wage books.

They signed the 24-year-old for £40m two seasons back under Antonio Conte. Bakayoko failed to impress in his debut Premier League campaign and spent the past year out on loan with AC Milan.

If it were not for a racism incident and general fallout with Milan boss, Gennaro Gattuso, Bakayoko could have made his San Siro switch permanent. Now, the defensive midfielder is simply collecting his wages in the Chelsea ranks, waiting to be sold off to a new party.

He has an amazing record in the Ligue 1, scoring 6 goals in 92 appearances for Monaco and also winning the 2016/17 title. Bakayoko showcased some of his best traits in the Serie A last season as well.

The Frenchman clearly has no place at the Bridge and it would be wise for Chelsea to cut their losses on the player even if they are currently unable to sign a replacement.
