Anxious wait

While both clubs are looking to fight for the Premier League this season, they are still fighting over a recent transfer which is yet to be resolved.

That is the transfer of English forward Dominic Solanke after the England U20’s star moved to Anfield on a free transfer.

Though due to the players’ age and his potential, Chelsea are due a compensation fee and it was up to Liverpool to agree a fee with the club.

Chelsea valued the player in excess of £10million while Liverpool were only happy paying in the region of £3million.

With the clubs at an impasse, the Premier League will likely have to run their own independent tribunal to determine the compensation figure.

The latest report from the Times claims that we are still several months away from a potential tribunal and Chelsea face an anxious wait.

It is said that Chelsea are hoping for more than what Liverpool paid for Danny Ings’ compensation from Burnley which was a record £8million.
