Costa going nowhere
Diego Costa has spoken to Brazilian media about the China move reports that have rocked Chelsea. The Premier League’s top scorer hasn’t trained with the first team for three days after an argument with Antonio Conte.
The argument revolved around Costa’s interest in a China proposal.
Half-a-million pounds a week would turn most heads, to be fair.
However, fans can breathe a sigh of relief after ESPN Brazil reporter Joao Castelo-Branco tweeted that Costa currently has no interest in a move to China. The title bid is back on so. Losing Costa would have been disastrous.
Pals in China
Having happily taken money from Chinese clubs for Ramires, Oscar and John Obi Mikel, Chelsea should have seen this coming. They’re going to a less competitive league but they’re earning a bomb to do so. Oscar is good pals with Costa and their chats about his £400,000-a-week salary might have given Costa something to chew on.
