According to a report from the Telegraph this morning, Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante is set to miss their next six fixtures across all competitions.
Kante, who has started the season in typically brilliant fashion, was forced off in the 34th minute of France’s World Cup qualifying clash with Bulgaria on Saturday night with a hamstring problem.
It was originally thought that the diminutive star would miss around 10 days of action, but further reports today suggest that fresh tests from Chelsea’s medical staff have ruled Kante out for up to three weeks.
With the Blues set for a hectic schedule for the remainder of October, the news will stand as a huge blow to Antonio Conte and co.
If, as expected, Kante does miss a full three weeks, then he will be sidelined for six matches, including a crucial Champions League double-header with Italian outfit AS Roma, and Premier League clashes with Crystal Palace, Watford, Everton and Bournemouth.
